Windows 8

I am now running Windows 8 on a laptop. I can’t say I was impressed with the upgrade installer and the new UI is not very intuitive. I guess it’ll take a bit of getting used to but all the admin stuff seems hidden away. Probably great with a touch screen but with a mouse it’s a right pain. Maybe there are some keyboard shortcut keys? Need to investigate after I get Delphi running :)

"Not very intuitive"?

Showing your age, Mr M ;)

Not happy with it at the moment as I still can't get Delphi 7 installed :( It ran under Windows 7 so it should be work but not sure how just yet. Showing my age? I don't get old now that I've sold my sole to Grosvenor.

"I've sold my sole"

Did you mean "soul" or are you just missing an "ar"? :>

D7, eh? Didn't you move to XE or XE2?

I've got a project coming up that I might use Delphi for.....

Didn't think I'd be using it again.

Delphi isn't used here anymore. The Delphi 7 install is for 'personal' use. As for soul or sole, GTL got the bottom of my feet :)

Did you get D7 working?

Delphi 7 eventually went on. Turned out to be a dodgy CD. I has also installed Python, which I am currently learning.

Has you? :>

Python????

Poor boy.....

(says he who's got a project that for some reason the owners want a Python interface. Urgh!)

You’re being very pedantic about my use of English :) I’ve just started looking at Python. Not sure if I like the indenting as it can be easy to misinterpret the flow of the code. I don’t want to give too much away on the project but let me just say that the days are numbered for the Z80 boards…

No more Z80 boards?
Alan must have left then.....
